On April 5, 2005 Samuel Taylor was shot in the line of duty while executing a search warrant. Taylor was shot directly in the chest, one round, with a 9mm projectile. The projectile was stopped by the Monarch vest. Taylor did sustain injuries, but due to the vest they were to a lesser degree.
