Suddenly, without warning “it felt like something had just knocked the wind out of me.” FHP Trooper Wargin had just been struck in the stomach by a .357 magnum slug. But, Wargin was alive! And, returning the gunman’s fire! He then jumped back into his police unit and pursued his assailant at speeds reaching 120 MPH. With the help of other units in the area, Wargin apprehended the criminal. Wargin was wearing the Second Chance® vest purchased for him by his wife. (Ed. Note: The would-be cop killer, on parole for child molesting, was with a kidnapped, naked 12-year-old girl. Wargin rescued her. The man was suspected to have raped and killed two other young girls a few weeks before)
