While patrolling a local Park, Officer Cirello noticed a suspicious man sitting in an unlit area. The Park was closed, so Officer Cirello stopped to advise the person to leave the park. After rolling down his winder, Cirello was struck immediately in the head with a bottle. Cirrello then exited his patrol car, and hit in lower chest and upper chest by a 22 caliber. After returning fire, the suspects fled on foot while Cirello radioed for backup and medics. Officer Cirello was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center where it was confirmed his Second Chance® body armor had stopped a 22 cal. round he was struck by. He was treated and released.
We welcome Officer Robert Cirello, SAVE #994, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
