Officer Ernest Greenleaf of the Memphis Police Department was taking a
murder suspect into custody when the suspect became physically combative.
During an intense struggle while attempting to handcuff the suspect, one of
the suspect’s relatives came up behind Officer Greenleaf and grabbed the
handle of his duty weapon.
The person pulled so hard on the firearm that he almost pulled Officer
Greenleaf completely off the suspect. His Safariland® 070 SSIII duty holster
securely retained the weapon and Officer Greenleaf was able to successfully
take the suspect into custody.
