Sergeant Paul Locke

Milton Police Department - Vermont Saves Club

On April 23, 2025, Sergeant Paul Locke responded to a reported house fire. While making entry, the resident ambushed him from a barricaded position and opened fire. Sergeant Locke was shot twice. He was hit in the chest, then in the lower back below his armor. Sergeant Locke’s Safariland® SX02 level II armor, worn in an Oregon City carrier, stopped the 165-grain HP round that hit his chest.

Sergeant Locke was transported to the hospital. The Vermont State Police contained the barricaded suspect, who was later found deceased on the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Sergeant Locke has recovered and returned to full duty.

We welcome Sergeant Paul Locke as SAVE #2254 to The Safariland Group Saves Club®.
