Hi Point Firearms has been producing affordable handguns and pistol caliber carbines since 1992. In that time, there have been additional calibers but precious few changes to the design, but the new braceable P-series from Hi Point marks a notable change.
P-Series Lineup
This new lineup of pistols includes the 995P, 4595P, and 1095P, in 9mm, .45 ACP, and 10mm Auto. The 995, 4595, and 1095P pistols mimic the full-size 95-series pistol caliber carbines, but come with a shorter barrel and in a braceable format. Barrel length varies from 13.25 inches with the 995P, while the 4595P and 1095P have a 14.25-inch barrel.
Features and Specifications
The P-series pistols can be fired with the pistol grip and, alternatively, the removable Picatinny backplate may be removed and a standard AR brace tube installed.
Each pistol features the same peep rear sight and Hi-Viz front post iron sights and Picatinny optics rail as the carbine, as well as a left-side mounted charging handle and manual thumb safety. These pistols also come with QD sling attachments for flexible mounting options, as well as a handguard-mounted Picatinny rail for lights and other accessories.
The 995P in 9mm is the smallest of the lot, with an unloaded weight of 6.1 lbs. It has a 10-round standard capacity and a barrel that is threaded for 1/2×28 TPI accessories. The 4595 and 1095 come in at 6.5 lbs. The 4595 has a 9-round capacity, while the 1095 holds ten rounds. These models have .578×28-inch threads.
All three of the P-series lineup also take an optional 20-round Redball magazine, as well as standard Hi Point magazines.
