Vortex Triumph Red Dot: CADRE NEWS

Cory Ross

Vortex continues to grow its affordable Triumph series of optics. Currently, it offers a 3-9×40 riflescope, a 10×42 binocular, and a rangefinder in the lineup, but are now introducing the Triumph 2 MOA Red Dot.

In my experience, Vortex’s budget-friendly options have consistently impressed me. Keep in mind, though, that these optics are designed for the average user—not operators or law enforcement. They are intended for everyday shooters looking for simple, reliable gear for the range or the field.

FEATURES

The Triumph 2 MOA Red Dot is a straightforward optic designed for new and recreational shooters, emphasizing practical features. Less is more in this case.

Vortex states that the Triumph line aims to provide honest, attractively priced optics that offer real performance. This model features a sharp 2 MOA illuminated center dot that is daylight-bright in bright sunlight and effective in low-light conditions, thanks to nine daylight and two night-vision illumination settings.

A new feature at this price point from Vortex is motion-activation, with a 10-minute auto-shutoff to simplify operation and extend battery life, preventing accidental battery drain.

The Multi-Height Mount System includes both a Lower 1/3 Co-Witness Mount and a Low Mount. The mount has a sleek design with a slight forward lean. The package contains the mounts, a combo Torx T-10 wrench and adjustment tool, a rubber lens cover, and a CR2032 battery.

Zooming Out

The Triumph 2 MOA Red Dot, with a $149.99 MSRP and a street price of $99.99, offers reliable performance for shooters who want to stay within budget. Currently, Vortex offers the Crossfire RD as a budget choice, priced around $149.99. But the Triumph now takes its place and slides in as the new budget king. Remember, their VIP Warranty covers all Vortex Optics.
