Enclosed emitter optics are all the rage. I mean, I’m a fan. I have several from different brands. However, one of my favorites is the Steiner MPS. This is more of a “mailbox” style that mounts via an Aimpoint ACRO-style dovetail. I have it mounted on an HK VP9 Match. Because Deutsch on Deutsch. And while I really like the MPS, it’s really only meant for full-size handguns, not so much slimline ones.
Well, Steiner has resolved that issue with the all-new MPS-C.

FEATURES
The Steiner MPS-C updates the company’s enclosed-emitter pistol optic design into a more compact package, specifically designed for concealed-carry pistols. Designed around an RMSc footprint, the optic retains the original MPS’s internal architecture while reducing overall size and weight to just 1.13 ounces.
Its fully sealed emitter protects the optic from debris, moisture, and environmental contamination, while a hard-anodized Class III aluminum housing with reinforced sidewalls provides durability against impact and harsh use.
Despite its compact dimensions of 1.46 x 1.27 x 1.08 inches, the MPS-C offers a clear, distortion-free sight picture through a recessed window protected by a thick metal shroud.
The optic features true 1x magnification with a crisp 1.6 MOA red LED dot designed for fast, both-eyes-open target acquisition. Brightness is adjustable across 12 levels—including two night-vision compatible settings—and the CR1632-powered system offers up to 46,125 hours of runtime, supported by shake-awake technology and a user-selectable 13-hour auto-off feature.
ZOOMING OUT
I’m excited about this optic. As I mentioned, I’m a big fan of the MPS and Steiner products overall. While this isn’t on the budget-friendly side, I don’t think it’s overly expensive. You’re paying for a high-quality product. And, Steiner has a long history of making durable, reliable gear for military and law enforcement use. This is one product I can’t wait to check out.
