Like the previously released Sig Sauer P226 X-FIVE NIGHTMARE, the new P226 X-FIVE EXTREME takes on the legendary DS/SA pistol and turns things up a notch. This pistol, like others given the XFIVE moniker, is built to be run hard, which makes sense given its host of performance-based features.

FEATURES
The SIG SAUER P226-XFIVE EXTREME is built for shooters who want competition-level performance from a platform with a long track record of success. Chambered in 9mm, the pistol centers around a Nitron XSeries SIG-LOC optic-ready slide and a 5-inch bull barrel, a combination designed to deliver a consistent lockup, improved accuracy, and reduced recoil while supporting direct mounting of modern red dot optics.
The fully adjustable AX3 trigger system further refines the shooting experience, pairing a curved, skeletonized single-action trigger with the ability to tune pull characteristics for a clean, repeatable break.

The all-steel foundation starts with a Nitron-finished stainless steel frame equipped with a 1913 accessory rail, providing the weight and rigidity needed for recoil control and fast follow-up shots. Custom Hogue G10 Piranha grips offer aggressive texture for a secure purchase, while an alloy magwell helps streamline reloads. SIG also includes an extended XSeries slide catch for quicker manipulation and XRAY3 front and rear sights for rapid target acquisition in varying light conditions.
Three 20-round steel magazines with alloy basepads complete a package clearly designed for shooters focused on speed, precision, and consistency.
ZOOMING OUT
All in all, this is another great addition to the P226 lineup. For fans of the platform, having a few more performance-based models is a good thing, especially in a market crowded by double-stack 1911s. This gives users another option. Price was not listed, but I expect it to be on the higher end.
