Some partnerships just make sense. Think Sam and Frodo from The Lord of the Rings. Without Sam, the One Ring would have fallen into the clutches of the Dark Lord Sauron. And vice versa. They needed each other. The same could be said of Haley Strategic Partners (HSP) and Safariland. The two just go together. And when collaboration comes, great things are created.
The latest is a new series of belts. I was fortunate enough to get an early sneak peek at what HSP and Safariland were cooking up, and I must say, I was impressed and excited for what the two have coming. The first is the BASELINE Slick Belt.
THE BASELINE SLICK BELT
The BASELINE Slick Belt provides a sleek, high-performance base for everyday carry and range activities. Designed for strength and stability, this advanced gun belt features a minimalist, low-profile style and modular elements for contemporary loadouts.
I try to be a minimalist (just don’t look at my library, LEGO, or firearms collection). I like things to be low-profile and kind of disappear into the busyness of everyday life. That’s the benefit of a slick belt. It doesn’t appear to be overtly tactical until you take a closer look.
SPECS
Like most modern tactical belts, it’s a two-part system with an inner and outer belt. The Outer Belt comes in four sizes, all maintaining a standard height of 2 inches and a width of 0.25 inches, with lengths and weights that scale accordingly.
The Small size measures 32 to 36.5 inches long and weighs 7.45 ounces, while the Medium adjusts from 35 to 39.5 inches and weighs 7.9 ounces. For larger frames, the Large size spans 38 to 42.5 inches at a weight of 8.3 ounces, and the XL extends from 41 to 45.5 inches, weighing in at 8.66 ounces.

The belt is also designed to integrate seamlessly with Mandible MOLLE Straps, allowing users to quickly mount accessories without adding unnecessary bulk. Each package includes the BASELINE Slick Belt and a two-pack of Mandible Vertical MOLLE Straps, creating a ready-to-use platform that balances simplicity, modularity, and durability.
WHAT I LIKE
This is a do-it-all belt that can be used in a number of different ways. Favorite features include the Overlock Tab Closure System and the Raptor buckle. I can best describe it as a sliding insert with male and female ends. The male end is inserted before buckling and then slides into place once you engage the Raptor buckle. This creates extra rigidity in the front—a feature lacking in most other duty-style belts.
Another feature unique to the BASELINE Slick belts is their use of Mandible MOLLE straps. This allows users to quickly adapt the belt to their needs without adding extra weight while maintaining a minimal profile. Something I appreciate.
WHO IT’S FOR
This is for the everyday gun owner who consciously chooses to carry daily. This belt works great at the range or in competition and also handles the all-important task of everyday carry. When paired with the D3 inner belt, this combination is among the most comfortable on the market.
I’ve used plenty of cheap belts for carry, and that’s the worst thing you could do. A rigid belt that distributes weight around your waistline makes all-day carrying a breeze.
ZOOMING OUT

Haley Strategic Partners and Safariland have created a belt that delivers rigidity where it matters, comfort for all-day wear, and enough modularity to adapt to everything from daily concealed carry to long days on the range. The Overlock Tab Closure System and Raptor buckle set it apart from the crowd, while the Mandible MOLLE integration keeps things streamlined without sacrificing capability.
