Burris FastFire C: Red Dot for Micro-Compact Handguns

— News DeskCADRE Dispatch

To meet the demand for red dot options for sub-compact and micro-compact concealed carry handguns, Burris has added the FastFire C red dot to their FastFire optics series.

The new optic uses the RMSc footprint as its mounting standard, so it can be used on many popular handgun models. And, it weighs less than half an ounce, so it won’t affect firearm balance and handling.

The new optic is specifically designed for concealed carry and has several features engineered for maximum performance in any defensive situation. Here are the details.

Power and Illumination

The Burris FastFire C is powered by a CR2023 Lithium battery with a 25,000 hour run time. The “Always On” technology ensures that the optic is always ready to engage after the initial power-up, with no additional settings required by the user.

The optic comes equipped with the Burris Intelligent Auto-Bright system, which automatically adjusts reticle brightness levels for optimal visibility in any ambient light condition.

When the optic is holstered, concealed, or in storage, the brightness level reduces to an low consumption mode, with a longer “On” time than the shelf life of the battery. Users who prefer to set their own brightness level can do so using the five manual illumination settings, and turning the optic off is a simple press and hold of the power button.

FastFire C Frame Construction

This is a compact optic, at just 1.61 inches long, with a sight window measuring 22mm x 17mm. The glass is aspherical with minimal bluing and field curvature for a crisp, undistorted view.

The frame is built around a composite polymer housing similar to that of pistol frames for durability and recoil resistance. Serrations along the front edge of the optic deliver no-slip performance for aggressive one-hand slide manipulation.

The optic has a low profile that allows for absolute or 1/3 co-witness with most standard-height factory open sights. A removable rear fixed sight is included, which can be used as a co-witnessing backup or reference point for quick dot alignment. A white, high visibility strip on the back of the housing also assists in fast sight alignment and quick dot acquisition.

There is 80 MOA of windage and elevation adjustment, which can be done without special tools. A shim is included for additional elevation, if needed.
