Girsan is a Turkish manufacturer that has been producing guns since its establishment in 1993. Over the years, they have gained a cult following among enthusiasts and offer a wide range of products across various pistol platforms.
For 2026, they are expanding the limits of what we thought possible by introducing a compact, compensated, double-stack 1911 in 10mm (also available in 9mm and 45 ACP): The Witness2311 CMXX.

At its core, the CMXX maintains the single-action spirit shooters expect, but expands the platform into areas where John Browning probably never envisioned.
This is a compact, double-stack 1911 with genuine capacity and, notably, an integrated, compensated barrel that reduces recoil and keeps impulses more manageable. Chambered in 10mm—and also available in 9mm and .45—this isn’t a range toy; it’s a high-performance pistol.
Removing the traditional grip safety results in a slimmer, more controllable grip while still providing an auto-firing-pin block for safety. The tuned 4.5-pound trigger, RMSc-ready slide, flared magwell, and full accessory rail complete a design clearly aimed at shooters who want classic ergonomics combined with modern features. It’s a familiar silhouette, but a new platform.
Zooming Out
The Witness2311 CMXX packs a punch, literally. 9mm and 45 ACP are cool, but a compact, 2011-style pistol in 10mm that’s comped—sign me up. Not to mention the value: $1,149.99. That is an attractive price for a pistol like this. I’ve heard good things about the Witness2311, and expect this one to be on par with the others.
