The name Warrior holds significance for Kimber. It symbolizes their duty-driven tactical package designed to withstand tough conditions. However, like all names, it has evolved over time. The new Kimber Warrior now refers to an affordable double-stack 1911 pistol. It’s the all-new Kimber 1911DS Warrior.
SPECS
Kimber introduced the 2k11 series of handguns over a year ago, and they have become popular. For the new 1911DS Warrior, Kimber took a standard 1911 slide and added it to a double-stack frame. This simplifies the design and offers something people are already familiar with.

FEATURES
The 1911 DS Warrior is Kimber’s latest evolution of the 1911 platform, blending classic single-action design with modern high-capacity and optics-ready features. It combines a traditional Kimber single-action 1911 slide with a modern double-stack subframe and grip module, offering increased magazine capacity without sacrificing the familiar feel and shootability that longtime 1911 shooters expect.
The slide stays true to Kimber’s proven formula, featuring the company’s legacy internal extractor, a bushing system barrel, and a mil-spec guide rod that maintains the time-tested operating system. All models come optics-ready, making it easy to mount today’s most popular red dot sights.
The 1911 DS Warrior comes in four calibers—9mm, .45 ACP, 10mm, and .38 Super—and is available in a full-size 5-inch configuration, with the 10mm also offered in a 6-inch long slide. Made in the USA, the DS Warrior provides a high-capacity, value-oriented 1911 that preserves Kimber’s traditional DNA while satisfying modern shooters’ expectations.
ZOOMING OUT
The value of this pistol is exceptional. The base 9mm model has an MSRP of $1,099.00, placing it in direct competition with many Turkish imports. This is an American-made double-stack 1911 with a lifetime warranty, which is unheard of. I expect the street price to be even lower. This could be the best value out there for someone looking to get into 2011-style pistols.
