Springfield teamed up with legendary 1911 builder and instructor Hilton Yam of 10-8 Performance to introduce the all-new 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911.

The features and enhancements come straight from Yam himself, making this 1911 offering feel very personal. This one excites me.

FEATURES
Hilton Yam of 10-8 Performance, with decades of experience as an FBI Special Agent, SWAT operator, and firearms instructor, teamed up to craft every detail. The 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911 is a purpose-built pistol designed through real-world experience. Lipsey’s offers this full-size, 5-inch 1911 in .45 ACP and 9mm.
The pistol features hand-selected, forged carbon-steel frames and slides, paired with a forged stainless-steel bull barrel, all precisely fitted and blended for duty-grade performance. It’s equipped with signature 10-8 Performance components, including a reverse-recoil spring plug, an extended magazine catch, a flat trigger, a specialized slide stop, and G-10 10-8 grips by VZ Grips. The design is finished with a squared trigger guard, aggressive 20 lines-per-inch front strap checkering, and a two-piece extended magwell.
Both variants include the Agency Optic System (AOS), which supports RMR, Shield, Delta Point Pro, and Docter footprints via interchangeable plates with integrated rear sights for reliable co-witnessing. These plates must be purchased separately. However, Springfield includes a coupon for the first one…which is still $50.
ZOOMING OUT
The 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911 is a serious 1911. It offers nearly every feature someone might want in a custom 1911. The fact that it’s a Lipsey’s Exclusive can make things tricky. Not every shop will carry it, but most reputable FFLs should be able to order it. Act quickly, though, as I believe this will be popular.
