The Springfield Armory Tactical Response Pistol (TRP) traces its lineage to the Professional 1911, originally designed for the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team. Expanding on this foundation, the TRP lineup now includes eight new models featuring the Agency Optic System (AOS) and, for the first time, 9mm chambering.
Forged Construction and Optic Compatibility
The Springfield TRP AOS features a forged frame and slide, with components fitted for precise slide-to-frame fit. It includes a match-grade forged stainless steel barrel and 20-LPI checkering on the frontstrap and mainspring housing for grip control. VZ Hydra G-10 grips provide a balance between texture and comfort.
Developed in collaboration with Agency Arms, the Agency Optic System (AOS) is a modular mounting system designed for compatibility with various red dot optics, including RMR, Shield, Delta Point Pro, and Docter footprints. Each pistol comes with a cover plate and a discounted coupon for an AOS mounting plate.
Springfield TRP AOS Variants
Springfield offers eight TRP AOS variants in two configurations:
- Full-size 5” models with an integrated light rail, forged steel frame, and Cerakote finish in black or Coyote Brown.
- 4.25” Carry Contour (CC) models, featuring a lightweight forged aluminum frame with a Cerakote finish in black or Coyote Brown.
Each TRP AOS pistol includes:
- Ambidextrous thumb safety for ease of use
- Gen 2 Speed Trigger for improved performance
- Forward and top slide serrations for better manipulation and sight picture enhancement
- Skeletonized hammer for faster lock time
