Tisas PX-9 Comp: CADRE NEWS

Cory Ross

The Tisas PX-9 was first introduced in the United States in 2021. Since then, the pistol has undergone massive changes to bring it to modern standards.

Earlier this year, SDS—the importing partner with Tisas—introduced the PX-9 Duty Comp. This was an updated fighting pistol that carried many of the features modern shooters look for in a duty pistol. Building off that release, SDS has introduced the compact PX-9 Carry Comp and the full-size PX-9 Tactical Comp.

SPECS

The PX-9 Carry and Tactical Comp retains many of the features of the previously released Duty Comp. Most notably, these models utilize Sig Sauer P228 or P226 magazines, providing commonality with other magazines a user may already have. The other specs are as follows:

  • Models: PX-9 Carry Comp, PX-9 Tactical Comp
  • Caliber: 9MM
  • Capacity: 1x 15-rd & 1x 17-rd, 1x 18-rd & 1x 20-rd
  • Sights: Fixed black rear and white dot front
  • Optic Cut: RMR Footprint
  • Barrel Length: 3.5”, 5.1”
  • Overall Length:  6.7”, 8.27”
  • Width at Grip: 1.33”
  • Height: 5.25”, 5.76”
  • Weight (unloaded): 1.56lbs., 1.75 lbs.
  • Price: $562.20, $539.21

FEATURES

The feature set is surprisingly extensive for a duty-level pistol that retails for under $600. The features include the following:

Zooming Out

These new offerings from Tisas (and SDS) feature many popular elements commonly found in modern pistols. These upgrades enhance the firearm’s ergonomics and shootability while keeping an affordable price point.

Although the pistols are cut for RMR-footprint optics, this setup isn’t ideal for shooters using other footprints, like the Delta Point Pro. The two size options allow users to tailor the gun to their specific needs—whether for competition, defense, or duty use. For those looking for an upgraded, yet budget pistol with tons of features, check out the PX-9 Duty Comp and Tactical Comp.
