Primary Arms of Houston, Texas is a national purveyor of rifle scopes, binoculars, red dots, and even prism sights. While their R&D is done at home, the new Primary Arms PLx HTX-1 is their first optic designed and built in the USA.
The Primary Arms PLx HTX-1 is the first in an eventual lineup of domestically produced optics that demonstrates the company’s mastery of the production chain from top to bottom.
Features and Specs
The HTX-1 is a closed-emitter red dot sight housed in a black anodized 7075 aluminum housing and recessed lens pockets to guard against debris. The reticle is available as a standard 4 MOA red dot or with an ACSS Vulcan dot with an illuminated segmented circle for faster target acquisition. Both models have 11 brightness settings as well as three night vision settings, which can be adjusted through a pair of tactile buttons on the left side of the optic.
“HTX-1 is the result of a three-year journey to expand optics manufacturing in the United States,” said Marshall Lerner, Founder and CEO of Primary Arms Optics. “This project exemplifies our commitment to innovation and craftsmanship, delivering a truly American-made optic designed and built in Houston, Texas.”
The HTX-1 is readily adjustable with elevation and windage values of 1 MOA per click. The optic runs on a single 2032 coin battery that is readily changed through the battery housing on the right side. The HTX-1 has Auto-live off/on motion sensing technology and boasts an advertised 20,000 hours of battery life.
Modular Chassis System
But the most distinguishing feature of the new optic is Primary Arms’ patent-pending modular chassis system that allows the optic to be mounted directly to most optics-ready handguns without an adapter plate. Without the adapter plate, the optic can effectively co-witness with standard-height iron sights.
The Primary Arms LPx HTX-1 is now available on a limited basis with full production and shipping expected in April 2025. MSRP is $699.99.
