Aimpoint of Manassas, Virginia has innovated in the field of red dot optics for decades. For 2025, Aimpoint is partnering with Glock for a run of select Glock 9mm pistols that come from the factory with the new A-Cut Aimpoint COA optic.
The Aimpoint COA is constructed of 7075 aluminum and a closed emitter to keep its 3.5 MOA dot glowing regardless of impacts and debris. The COA uses Aimpoint’s proprietary A-Cut footprint, which allows the optic to sit lower inside the slide for an effective co-witness with the dot using conventional iron sights on the handgun. The A-Cut is also reinforced at the rear of the footprint so that the optic cannot move and shake loose under recoil.
“Our goal was to create the best shooting experience possible in a package delivering on our brand promises – Perfection and Performance from Trust. The result is a system you can trust when your life depends on it,” stated Jonas Ardemalm, Aimpoint’s Director of OEM RDS Sales & Business Development.
Like the Glock platform, the Aimpoint COA is designed to be both redundantly simple and rugged. It features a waterproof rating of up to 80 feet of submersion and its enclosed aluminum housing is impact-resistant. The controls are equally durable. A pair of glove-friendly buttons control the four night vision and seven daylight brightness settings. The dot is adjustable via a standard T10 Torx wrench.
Opposite the adjustment settings is the battery tray, which can be accessed without removing the optic from the handgun. The battery itself takes a standard 2032 coin battery and is rated for up to 5 years of off/on use thanks to its remote sensing technology.
