New Handgun Options from Tanfoglio

CADRE Dispatch

Tanfoglio of Italy is a premiere pistol maker that has been in the business for decades. They are best known for their improved versions of the 1911 and CZ-75, all of which are brought stateside by the Italian Firearms Group. New for 2025 are a trio of offerings: the Tactical Pro, Stock Master Extreme, and Pugio.

Tactical Pro

The Tactical Pro is a suppressor ready and optics ready take on the CZ-75. Chambered in 9mm Luger and finished in an OD Green cerakote, the Tactical Pro features a finger-grooved steel frame and black anodized aluminum grips. It features a Lothar Walther 4.5 inch bull barrel complete with 1/2×28 inch threads.

The pistol wears a steel guide rod and the slide has forward and rearward cocking serrations, a micrometric rear sight and an interchangeable front sight. The Tanfoglio Tactical Pro also comes with a full universal light rail and an extended beavertail to prevent hammer bite.

In a nod to the original, the Tactical Pro is a double action/single action handgun with a manual safety so the pistol can be carried either hammer-down or cocked-and-locked.

Stock Master Extreme

The tanfoglio Stock Master xtreme, as the name implies, is geared toward competitive shooting. [italian firearms group]

The Tanfoglio Stock Master Xtreme is built with IPSC competition in mind. Like the Tactical Pro, it is a CZ clone and is double action/ single action. It features the same 9mm bull barrel, albeit with a reverse target crown.

This steel framed handgun features a hard chrome finish with black cerakote accents. The frame features a full light rail, flared aluminum magwell, knurled front strap and backstrap as well as aluminum grips. Note the choice of an ambidextrous manual safety. The Stock Master Xtreme features a fiber optic front sight and the same micrometric rear sight/optics footprint as the Tactical Pro.

Pugio

Tanfoglio is also adding to its 1911 line with the commander sized 1911 Pugio. It uses a steel-reinforced polymer frame and a 4.25 inch Lothar Walther bull barrel. The Pugio has a one-piece steel guide rod in lieu of the old GI Guide Rod, as well as anti-slip synthetic grips. The front sight post is dovetail interchangeable and the rear sight is removeable to reveal an RMS optics footprint.

Each of these new offerings from Tanfoglio ships in a hard case containing a cleaning kit and a compliment of magazines. The Pugio sports two ten-round steel magazines. The Tactical Pro ships with one 17-round flush magazine and one 20-round XL-padded magazine. The Stock Master Xtreme ships with four 17-round magazines with 3+1 aluminum baseplates.

MSRP of these new models range from $660 for a base model Pugio to $2,255 for the optics-ready Stock Master Extreme.
