FEATURES
Davidson’s has partnered with Smith & Wesson to introduce exclusive Performance Center versions of the Shield X, marking the first models in the series to feature a factory-threaded barrel.
Each pistol is built around a 4.1-inch, 1/2×28 threaded, fluted barrel finished in blue PVD, with matching blue PVD controls that echo the styling seen in the M&P SPEC V lineup.
The redesigned optic-cut slide, finished in gray Armornite, features new serrations and incorporates Smith & Wesson’s ClearSight slide cut, which redirects gases forward and away from the optic to maintain a clear sight picture. Sighting duties are handled by an Ameriglo Trooper square-notch black serrated rear sight paired with an Ameriglo Trooper front night sight featuring a “Fire” ring and green tritium.
Two variants are offered: one equipped with a knurled blue PVD thread protector and the other with a Strike Industries Micro Threaded compensator for reduced recoil and flatter shooting. Both ship with one 13-round and one 15-round magazine.

ZOOMING OUT
More options are always better, especially when it comes to “custom” features. The styling of these two Shield Xs helps them stand out in a crowd. Of the two, I’d choose the Strike Industries comp model. It’s worth the extra fifty bucks.
