Vortex Venom Enclosed Micro Green Dot: CADRE NEWS

Cory Ross

The Vortex Venom is a budget-level enclosed micro red dot sight. At about $200, it offers a lot of value. Enclosed emitter optics are immensely popular these days for both duty and concealed carry. An enclosed optic keeps debris away from the emitter, preventing it from being blocked. Vortex has recently expanded its line to include a green-dot option.

For many shooters who struggle with color blindness, astigmatism, or other conditions, alternative color options are essential. Let’s check out the Venom Enclosed Micro Green Dot.

FEATURES

The new green dot model provides shooters with an alternative when green is easier to see than red in certain conditions.

Designed for pistols, offset on carbines, or mounted on LPVOs, it features an enclosed 6061 aluminum housing that shields the emitter from rain, dust, snow, mud, and debris. A large viewing window ensures a full sight picture for quick target acquisition, and the aspherical lens offers a distortion-free image with more accurate color reproduction.

The Venom Enclosed Micro Green Dot also features adjustable brightness, top-mounted buttons for easy adjustments, and motion activation that automatically wakes the optic when movement is detected. A 10-minute auto-shutoff helps conserve battery life when the optic is left unattended.

With a 3 MOA green dot, the new model combines the familiar Venom controls and enclosed construction with an aiming point designed to stand out in varying lighting and against different backgrounds.

ZOOMING OUT

The Venom Enclosed Micro Green Dot offers shooters another practical option in the increasingly popular enclosed-emitter market. With a DPP footprint, aluminum housing, long battery life, and a bright 3 MOA green dot, it packs considerable capability into an affordable package. For the price, it’s a compelling choice.
