SIG P365-AXG Equinox: CADRE NEWS

Cory Ross

I think Sig Sauer is competing to offer the most unique SKUs for a single model, and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. More options are good. They enable consumers to find the pistol that perfectly fits their needs and tastes. The new P365-AXG Equinox elevates the P365 in both aesthetics and performance.

FEATURES

SIG SAUER expands the P365 lineup with the P365-AXG EQUINOX, a Custom Works configuration that pairs the compact P365 platform with the ergonomics of a metal AXG grip module. Chambered in 9mm, the pistol features an Equinox-polished slide with a two-port integrated expansion chamber to reduce muzzle rise for a flatter shooting experience.

The SIG-LOC optic-ready slide offers a clean way to configure the pistol with a preferred optic, while X-RAY3 Day/Night front and rear sights provide illumination in low-light conditions.

A black AXG alloy grip module pairs with custom black G10 grip panels, giving the pistol the feel and control of a metal-frame handgun. E-Nickel controls and a matching flat trigger add contrast to the Nitron and Equinox finishes. The P365-AXG EQUINOX includes three 12-round steel magazines and is offered as a Custom Works exclusive configuration.

ZOOMING OUT

From looks, the P365-AXG Equinox is striking. I really like the two-tone finish of the slide coupled with the muted color of the AXG frame. From a performance standpoint, the weight and the two-port “blast chamber” will really minimize felt recoil. Sig Sauer doesn’t list MSRP on its website, but I’m sure this one won’t be cheap.
