CZ launched the CZ Duty, a modular, striker-fired 9mm duty pistol, on October 6, 2026. Four models are available at $729 MSRP.
It takes a lot to surprise me anymore. I’ve been in the industry my entire adult working life. I’ve seen a lot—good and bad (anyone remember the bleeding zombie targets? I miss the zombie craze).
So, when I heard whispers of a CZ polymer-framed duty pistol, I didn’t believe it. They already have the P-10 series, along with a stable of legacy hammer-fired guns. I was obviously wrong. The whispers turned into shouts, and now we have the CZ DUTY pistol (check out my colleague Travis Pike’s review and impressions). Let’s see what it’s all about.

CZ Duty SPECS
The CZ DUTY does not replace the CZ P-10 family. It adds a new pistol platform to the CZ lineup, giving shooters another option for personal defense, professional use, and everyday carry. The inaugural launch includes four models: the 4.0 C and 4.0 F, each with or without a manual safety. All four carry a $729 MSRP.

CZ Duty FEATURES
Modular Chassis
The all-new CZ DUTY introduces a modular, striker-fired platform built around a patented serialized modular chassis, letting shooters move the chassis between compatible grip modules and configurations.
Optics-Ready Slide
An optics-ready system lets compatible red dots mount directly to the slide without a traditional adapter plate. Instead, a series of pins accepts direct-mount Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K, or Leupold DeltaPoint Pro red dot footprints. CZ also offers adapter plates for dovetail footprints, including the Aimpoint ACRO, Colt Optics, and the HE509T.

Safety Features
Its three-stage drop safety system incorporates drop, trigger, and out-of-battery safeties, while manual-safety models add an ambidextrous safety. All models allow disassembly without pulling the trigger.
Trigger and Controls
CZ lists the trigger pull at 5.6 lb ± 0.9 lb with a 4 mm reset. The grip geometry is updated and textured, and the slide release, magazine release, and manual safety (MS models) are ambidextrous.
ZOOMING OUT
The CZ DUTY is a truly new pistol built from the ground up. Many companies are building adaptable pistols, and CZ is now on board. And I’m impressed with what they’ve come up with.
