Springfield Armory has introduced four new additions to its esteemed family of 1911 Emissary pistols. These sleek all-black variants are available in both 4.25” and 5” barrel lengths, catering to shooters who prefer either 9mm or .45 ACP calibers.

With the inclusion of these all-black variants, including the 4.25” model featuring a full-length dustcover with a strip of Picatinny rail, there’s an even broader array of options for defense-oriented users seeking custom-style features.
Construction and Features
Constructed with a forged steel frame and slide, these new pistols maintain the strength and durability of their two-toned predecessors. Adorned with a black Cerakote finish, they feature the signature squared trigger guard for enhanced operational ease, especially with gloved hands.
The slide’s “Tri-Top” cut adds custom flair, complemented by a flattened top strap with 40 line-per-inch (l.p.i.) serrations to mitigate glare. Equipped with tritium and luminescent front sights paired with Tactical Rack U-Dot rear sights, the Emissary ensures swift target acquisition in any lighting condition.
Inside the slide, a bushingless stainless steel bull barrel with a black nitride finish delivers exceptional accuracy while mitigating recoil and muzzle flip. The skeletonized hammer ensures rapid lock times, coupled with a solid-body, flat-faced trigger for optimal performance. The frame’s grenade-pattern texture on the front strap and mainspring housing ensures a secure grip, complemented by slim line grip panels machined from G10 by VZ Grips.
Each pistol is accompanied by two top-quality magazines with base pads. Priced at $1,378, these four new variants offer shooters an enticing blend of refinement and defensive capability.
