In the age of the polymer carry pistol, Smith & Wesson went against the grain with the CSX, an aluminum-framed everyday carry handgun with the familiar 1911 battery of arms. For the best in durability, feel, and recoil mitigation, nothing quite beats metal in the hand. New for 2025 is the Smith & Wesson CSX E series, the CSX made Easy.

Features
The new Smith & Wesson CSX E-Series pistols offer marked improvements over the original without giving up the latter’s winning formula.
The CSX E-Series features an anodized aluminum frame and an Armornite-treated stainless steel slide with forward and rearward cocking serrations. It retains the ambidextrous thumb safety, slide release, reversible magazine release button, and interchangeable polymer grip adapters as the original.
Both models follow the micro-compact footprint with a slide measuring just 1.1 inches and featuring a minimum magazine capacity of 12+1 rounds of 9mm Luger. A capacity-compliant version of the CSX E-Series is also available with flush-fitting 10-round magazines.
The E-Series introduces key improvements
The CSX E-Series features a new modular grip adapter, allowing users to size down for deep concealment or size up for better handling and increased capacity. It also introduces a redesigned trigger with a straight path of travel, similar to a conventional 1911, rather than a pinned hinge. This ensures even disengagement of the trigger safety and a more consistent press, reducing sensitivity to finger placement.
Second, the E-Series is optics-ready in addition to its standard steel 3-dot sights. It features a modified RMSc footprint designed to vent gas away from the optic, preventing debris and fog from obstructing a reflex sight.
The new Smith & Wesson CSX E-Series is available with either a 3.1- or 3.6-inch barrel and ships with a hard case and three magazines. MSRP starts at $699.99.
